A citified country boy called to be a pastor (although I’m not sure why, hehe).  I think too much, I hate tradition for the sake of tradition, and I love simple and different ideas.  Oh, and for some reason I believe the Church should be what God intended it to be: an ordinary group of people who love God and love people.

The lovely woman on the left is my beautiful wife and partner in crime, Bridgett.  Other than the gift of salvation she is the best gift God has ever given to me.  I don’t know what I’d do without her.

7 Quick Facts:

  • I am the youngest brother of 2 kids.
  • I am the pastor of the Beyond Youth at Life-Givers Ministries.
  • I love salsa, but hate tomatoes.
  • Favorite verse is Jeremiah 1:17, “Get up and prepare for action.”
  • Camp Robinson is the greatest place in the world.
  • Nobody is perfect; thus everyone needs to change, including me.
  • No kids…yet.

My 4 goals as a pastor:

To Learn

I’m a career student.  I love to learn.  I read, I do, I listen, and I see.  My brain never stops, and I like it that way.

To Share

I love to share.  Share my life, my ideas, and my thoughts.  I’m a fan of living life together in a community where each person participates.  It’s why I blog.  To create an online community of sharing.

To Help

What’s a life without helping?  My life isn’t about just me or my family.  They are my most important people, but I’m also called to help where I can.  I’m no superman, but I can do my part.  By-the-way, how can I help you today?

To Have Fun

What’s fun about not having fun?  Nothing.

Kingdom Work:

Bonneau PH Church (Oct ’00-Mar ’06)

Bonneau was my first church, and will always be “home” for me.  It is where I accepted Jesus as my Savior, and where I was called to be a pastor.  Although I didn’t do much ministry work, I simply learned what it meant to be a believer and a follower of Jesus.  I learned the fundamentals.  Before I left though, I was honored to teach a Sunday School class for a year.

Restoration Ministries (Apr ’06-Aug ’09)

After leaving Bonneau, I started attending RM a month before getting married.  With Bridgett’s help, this is where I started my leadership training.  I was a helps minister (ministry through serving), a small group leader, a media technician, and an intern before finally finding my place as the junior high pastor.  After a year of this, Bridgett and I were promoted to be the youth pastors, but this didn’t last long.  God called us away in faith.  This displacement wouldn’t last long, because we ended up at…

Life-Givers Ministries (Sept ’09-present)

God placed me at LGM after leaving RM.  It was amazing how it happened, but long story short, Bridgett and I became their youth pastors.  We quickly named the ministry, Beyond Youth, and got started.  Since then, we’ve seen an increase in both interest in the church and in numbers.  On top of that, the adults of the church are excited in watching these students mature and become believing adults.

Camp Robinson (’07-present)

For the past 4 years, Bridgett and I have been counselors at Camp Robinson for at least 1 week.  It is a blast to minister to kids and teens even if for only 5 days.
