When I Grow Up

Ambition.  He has it. But everyone knows that Batman can’t be stopped.

Monday Morning Rewind #46

I hope you enjoy my thoughts for this past week. Three people answered God’s call to salvation yesterday.  Awesome! It’s amazing how something as costly as our freedom from sin can be given away free of charge. For the first time in the history of Life-Givers Ministries a sermon wasn’t delivered.  The presence of God was so thick and real in the service that it would have been futile and moronic to add to what God was already doing. Sometimes …

Facebook vs. Face to Face

This is interesting. I read this Saturday night.  3 John 1:13-14, “I have much more to say to you, but I don’t want to write it with pen and ink. For I hope to see you soon, and then we will talk face to face.“ I think Paul understood a distinct leadership quality.  The willingness and desire to spend time with those he was leading. Technology has become ingrained into our personal and professional lives.  Blogs, e-mail, social networks, cell …

Monday Morning Rewind #45

I hope you enjoy my thoughts for this past week. Being different isn’t so bad.  Praise God for who he made you to be instead of wanting him to change you to who you want to be. It’s awesome seeing some of the Beyond Youth participate on Sunday mornings.  Alexis and Tiffany on the praise team and Cullen, Kameron, and Morgan in Kids Zone.  Thank you so much.  You make me proud. Bridgett and I celebrated her parents’ anniversary yesterday.  …

The New Baby

And no, Bridgett is NOT pregnant.  Just wanted to make that clear. This week, Bridgett began babysitting a ten month old, Ryder, and he is awesome.  He doesn’t really cry, and is absolutely fun to play with.  Oh, and his smile is so addicting. I stayed home from work today to take a little break, and got to spend all day with him.  We walked down an open path to my parents’ house, played around some, and he even fell …

Why Do I Feel Worthless?

Last Sunday, I taught a lesson to the Beyond Youth about their importance and significance.  On Monday, I found this video via The Doug and Jon Show that’s a good addition to the lesson.  It’s focused more to girls, but this is a lesson for all kids and teens.

One Year Gone

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of Bridgett and my official departure from Restoration Ministries.  I only bring this up because RM was a huge part of our lives as people and as pastors. In the three plus years that we attended RM we met so many people who became those that we’ll cherish forever; even if we aren’t able to interact with them regularly.  These people encouraged us and supported us throughout our growth from being “nobodys” to small …

Monday Morning Rewind #44

Not posting many thoughts, but here’s what I’ve got. Lesson to the Beyond Youth: You are valuable.  You are valuable to your family, to your friends, to your church, & especially to God.  So valuable that things aren’t the same when you’re not around.  Also, you have a place in this world just like each puzzle piece has a specific place in a puzzle.  Read Romans 12:4-6. Awesome to see all of the help with Kids Zone yesterday.  Thanks specifically …
