Monday Morning Rewind #35, Memorial Day Edition

Well, it’s Memorial Day, and I’m proud to be called an American.  Below are my Memorial Day thoughts. I can’t be the only one that noticed that the Spirit of God was present at Life-Givers yesterday. Also, Ashley did a great job performing Revelation Song during worship.  I really wish I could be there when [...]

Dependant

John 5:30, “I can do nothing on my own.” This was Jesus talking to some religious leaders at the Temple. His point was that he’s fully dependant on God. So too should we be. We shouldn’t even he able to live without God. That’s how I want to be. How about you?

Jesus Honors His Mom

This morning, I read John 2, and something stuck out to me. It was how Jesus treated the authority of his mother.  They were attending a wedding when the host ran out of wine.  Knowing that this was a social faux-pas, Mary bids Jesus for his help.  His response was priceless, “Dear woman, that’s not [...]

God Is Actively Seeking Worshipers

Put this in your pipe and smoke it. John 4:23, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind or worshipers the Father seeks.” Wow! God seeks those who will worship him. He’s not looking for half-hearted people [...]

Divine Excitement

While driving to work this morning I became increasingly excited about this coming Sunday’s service at Life-Givers Ministries.  More specifically, for the Beyond Youth.  This wasn’t just some excitement about an upcoming event or about something cool, but a divine excitement.  Like God is about to bust up something. Something big it about to happen. [...]

Monday Morning Rewind #34

Bridgett and I had a great weekend.  It was almost a mini vacation except for the super long meeting that we attended on Saturday.  Other than that, we spent some wonderful time with some great friends, chilled out, and took a small break.  Now that we’re back, here are my thoughts over the past week. [...]

New SCIPHC Leadership

The 2010 SCIPHC Annual Session is over, and all but one Executive Council member has been replaced.  The new Executive Council is as follows: Bishop: Greg Amos Assistant Superintendent: Dean Morgan Secretary-Treasurer: Nelwyn Miles Discipleship Ministries Director: Morris Smith I wish I had images/links to provide to give you more information about these people. This [...]

100 Years of the SCIPHC

Tomorrow, the SCIPHC will conduct their annual business session.  That’s really not saying a whole lot, in my honest opinion.  Why?  Because it’s nothing but a very long boring meeting.  Exciting, right? There are some really cool things that will be happening though; like welcoming in a new presiding Bishop and his leadership team. The [...]

Something Old or Something New

Something to think about before the end of the work week. At our churches, we are always looking to do something new.  Are we really doing something new or are we doing something old and claiming it as new? Just a thought. What’s your take?
